Jo Motoyo has been selected as one of the juries at D&AD 2023.
Our up-and-coming director, Jo Motoyo(TOKYO) has the honor of being selected as one of the juries of the Cinematography category at the D&AD Awards 2023. This will be the second time in three years for her to judge at D&AD.
"D&AD Awards", founded in 1962, is operated by a non-profit advertising and design association "D&AD" and the award is recognized globally as the ultimate creative accolade, entered and attended by the best from around the world.
Led by Karim Naceur, Global Head of Tvproduction at BETC Paris as the president, 8 members from 6 countries, including Jo, will judge the Cinematography category.

＜Jo Motoyo Profile＞
After working as a photographer even before she had graduated from the prestigious Musashino Art University, Jo has proven her worth time and again as a director and artist.
She considers the significance of non-verbal communication, believing in the power of the visual as a universal language to tell stories.
Jo has been represented as a director by TOKYO since 2015, also spending a year at Wieden+Kennedy as a copy writer. Her recent short film “Midnight” won the Short Film Silver award at Young Director Award 2019 and Adfest 2019’s Fabulous Five Popular Vote. She is set to direct her debut feature film after winning the Special Jury Prize at Tsutaya Creators’ Award 2019.
